Decorative Trim To Enhance A Space

Leslie Davis with @deeplysouthernhome is a huge advocate for decorative moulding, and she has been a long time fan of Ornamental Decorative Millwork. Partnering with her for the last 3 One Room Challenges, she has taken each design above and beyond with each project she takes on.

This year, when redesigning her bathroom and closet for the Spring 2022 One Room Challenge, she knew she needed to use her favorite mouldings once again from Ornamental Decorative Millwork.

Before

The Plan

Like many of the rooms Leslie has designed in the past, a key element to the design in her bathroom and closet revamp was the addition of highly decorative moulding and panel moulding. The space had a budget makeover a while back, but now it was time for some major changes to fit in with the elegant style of the rest of her home.

“Adding panel moulding around the room will give the room the European Luxury style I want to achieve. The moulding I am using from Ornamental is designed to be a chair rail. But I used this thicker profile in our Moody Main Bedroom makeover during the One Room Challenge last spring.”

Finished Space

The panel moulding found thoughout her closet and bathroom is our OML43 moulding, and it creates such an elegant look to the space. Now added to every wall in the space, her bathroom matches the elegant and moody design of her main bedroom design from last season.

“I have been using panel molding from Ornamental to add old-world-inspired architectural details for many years. I think this makeover is the 5th room panel molding has been installed as part of one of my previous One Room Challenges. This molding is available at most Lowes retailers and is considered a chair rail. I love the look it gives as a heavier panel molding.”
