Using Decorative Accents To Create A She Shed
Ursula Carmona with @homemadebycarmona took on the Fall One Room Challenge as a Featured Designer once again, and her space does not disappoint. Choosing an outdoor shed to revamp, this project stands to be one of the most unique we have seen from this challenge. Throughout the 8 week challenge, she took a “messy old shed into a stunning garden house with artist studio and greenhouse.”
The Plan
Ursula knew that this project would be a handful, but what better time to take it on than during the One Room Challenge. Starting off with a messy and unfinished shed, she got to work planning out her mood board and began working with her sponsors to come up with the perfect mix of decor and style.
“I love a multi-use space, because I’m of the philosophy that spaces shouldn’t be wasted, and should used to the max. But the smaller a room, the more clever you have to be with your use of space. I want to turn this shed into a Modern Parisian style garden house and artists studio.”
“I want this space to be as practical as it will be pretty. I’m all about making the most of any space, and I think this shed can serve multiple purposes, and store all my yard tools in style!”
Products Used
While she used a variety of different products while creating this space, including a beautiful and moody wallpaper design, she could not have created an indoor feel without the use of decorative moulding and accessories.
Utilizing OML24 Baseboards, Ursula created a beautiful shed that is still very practical for her needs. She also added delicate trim pieces on multiple doors in the shed to bring a sense of elegance to the space to create that Perisian feel that she was going for. For the finishing touches, she utilized Decorative Shelf Brackets and painted them to match her wallpaper selection to give her gorgeous shelving a special look. To top off these shelves, she added beautiful vintage art pieces and accents to give it a finished look.
The Finished Space
Turning an old backyard shed into a trendy and chic space is no small feat, but Ursula managed to complete this challenge in just 8 short weeks. Bringing an old worn out shed to a beautiful art studio and greenhouse, the finished space is a beautiful sanctuary.
